One of Toronto's fastest-growing and diverse music promoters, Jay Cleary's NuFunk.ca, is thrilled to announce an exciting sequel to last year's inaugural Nujazz Festival, November 12 - 14, 2009 at Revival and El Mocambo. The amazing lineup embodies the spirit of nu-jazz, bringing jazz into a modern context, by blending this essential improvisation-based art form with other styles like funk, soul, electronica and so much more. Headlining the festival are international nu-jazz heavyweights Jazzanova and DJ Nickodemus. They're joined by some of the most exciting live acts from all across our country, including: Robertson formerly of Bullfrog (Montreal), Elizabeth Shepherd Trio (Toronto), Innifa w/ High Plains Drifter and ESCALATE! (Toronto). Rounding out the festival is a who's who of Canadian and local DJs, introducing us all to cutting-edge sounds that keep the Toronto's scene progressing into the future: DJ John Kong (Do Right!), DJ Goldfinger (CIUT / What is Hip?), DJ Medicineman (CIUT / No Man's Land), Rollin' Cash (Hot Pie Records / Suma), LeeLee Mishi (Suma) and many more.
